House Of Ismay
House of Ismay was started in 2008 by Sarah Pounder, a book binder and hoarder of vintage ephemera. Recycled and reclaimed materials are the main feature of her work, be it antique wallets and postcards turned into books, or vintage maps and pages from damaged books made into jewellery. Every effort is made to create new objects that retain a feeling of history and familiarity.
reflections from a continent“The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes.”-Marcel Proust. “Travel teaches toleration.”-Benjamin Disraeli. “If you wish to travel far and fast, travel light. Take off all your envies, jealousies, unforgiveness, selfishness and fears.”-Cesare Pavese.
