This friendly tortoise will encourage learning through play. The five traditional wooden shapes can be posted through the corresponding holes into the tummy of the tortoise. The hinged lid can be opened to remove the pieces and the shapes can be safely stored within the tortoise when not in use. Made by skilled craftsmen from sustainable rubber wood and responsibly sourced plywood and coloured with non-toxic water stain. Traditionally rubber wood trees were felled and burnt when it became uneconomical to harvest the latex but under the Indonesian Government legal wood incentives, the timber is now being upcycled. For every tree that is cut down another is planted in its place so ensuring a continuous supply. Ethically made and packaged in a colourful box.
